From the Madison Speedway Newsletter, regarding the final CSR race on Saturday 9/20:

Saturday will be a huge day at MIS with many events planned. The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation will be holding their annual Walkathon in the morning with 2,000 - 3,000 people expected to walk around Wisconsin’s Fastest Half-Mile. There will be live music and games taking place in the infield.

The pit gates open at 9:00 AM with practice starting at 3:00. We are encouraging all drivers to put their cars on the track for a car show during the JDRF Walkathon. Saturday night racing begins at 7:00 and will feature Super Late Models (Twin 50s), Limited Late Models, Mid American Stock Cars, USST Super Trucks, Legends, Central States Super Cups and Grand National Vintage cars. Add in rides in the cars / trucks along with Dave’s Famous Trailer Race and it will truly be a weekend to remember.

As a side note there will be qualifying at Madison. They do have the loop installed on the short track now so make sure transponders are charged for our last race.

This is the curtain call for the 2008 season, so lets get as many cars out there as possible! Those of you with cars collecting dust (THE MAFIA!!!) get your butts out there!

Just an FYI, some potential 2009 sponsors will be there, so have your cars looking sharp, help answer any questions, and try to keep some after race emotions in check, lets have fun one last time!

One last thing. I know for sure the Mafia can not make it. Mike decided to get out of the towing business and went into the florist industry. Last I heard he turned his race car into a giant floral arrangement as a sign for his new store front.

Please call the Mafia if you need any important dates catered with floral arrangements or you can just call Mike if you are feeling sad after I beat everyone on Saturday!!!

We set lineups by qualifying time in about half the races this year, so you would have been fine missing races.

As for next year, I guess we'll have to see if you remember how to drive! I think you should start in the back just for being the mafia!

We dont hear from you for 7 months and now you are all over the place talking smack! Must be a mafia thing.....
