Hi, i am 15 years old and am from wisconsin rapids wi. I currently race 4 wheelers on the ice and this is my first year and i have 3 heat wins and 3 feature wins already and i havent finished a race worse then second. I love racing and thats all i want to do. I want to move into something o nthe asphalt. The super cups look fun and the setups are probably fairly easy. Does it cost much to get into this sport? Will i be able to get sponsors to pay for most of my costs to get started? Is there a way i could come to a race sometime and just have like a test session with a car to see if its something i like? LEt me know.
Thanks

Hello Racer 24,
Being 15 you might be able to race for a short time in the kids division but would shortly there after get pushed right up with the adults. Once we get some practice dates locked down Yes, we would be willing to let you take a spin in a car. Buying the car is the biggest expense. $4500 to $6500 is what you will pay for a used car and new ones are around $9000.00 after that you will probably spend more in gas money in traveling then anything else. Unlike most other series CSR does not charge registration fees at the track. Once you pay your one time registration at the beginning of the year you are done. Pit passes are the only thing left at the track with the exception of maintenance. Give me a call and I can answer any other questions you may have.

| Hey, if you could i would greatly appreciate it if you would let me know when the practice dates are. IS there a lot of maintence from week to week, are sponsors a big part of this division or not really. You can get back to me when you get the practice dates. My email is kw24racing@hotmail.com, for you to do that and any more info would be great |

There are many guys (though I dont recommend it) that load their car up on the trailer after a race and dont touch it until they bring it back to track (Jeff...). At a minimum, just charge the battery and check the bolts.
Just because I dont change my set up does not mean I dont work on the cars. The Myers Racing vehicles are always well greased and alignment specs checked weekly. Lean Mean Fighting Machines!!!

Racer24 it will be the BEST move you could ever make. You seem to have a passion for racing, you are in the target age group for latemodel teams and the super cups will provide the exposure you need.
We raced karts for three years and had a great time. We needed sponsorship support to compete. We had about $2,500.00 in sponsorship for the kart. Not bad for a mom and pop team, racing locally. We switched to the super cup and WOW everyone wanted to get on board. Our current sponsors added dollars and new sponsors wanted to be involved.
No sponsorship is easy. You have to think and prepare for what you are going to do for them. If they give you X...you have to give them XXX. The BEST way to get started is to get Lawman Racing's sponsor kit. Discussed right here on another thread.
Good luck and we look forward to racing with you. |

| Hey thanks, for your guys opinion. I do have a passion for racing and it would be nice to be noticed by a late model team in the upcoming years and some day to make a career racing. The one thing thats kinda holding me back is getting the parents ok to do this, the one problem is the traveling distance and the $$$. But if i can talk them into me looking for sponsors and getting some sponsors to help me pay for the car and GAS to get to the track each week ( the biggest problem) since we live a ways away it might just work out as long i have some sponsors help and im not funding everything on my own like i am now with my 4 wheeler. Any more advice? Thanks and hope to be racing someday this season, or at least testing out a car. |

Just remember Racer24 you are not required to make all the races. Looking at where you are coming from you could make the races at Madison, Slinger, Milwaukee and Rockford. If the extra funding is available make a fun trip out of one of the traveling races.
We will keep you informed of those practice dates.

A lot of cars should be at Rockford on April 22, Sunday morning. Come check us out then!

Hey Racer24,
You are welcome to show up to the races but I will say the odds of a driver letting you take a ride on race night will be rare. We hate to look at the possibility but if something happened they loose a night of points. Other then that watch the forum and keep track of who is where.
On the 27th I have rented the track at Rockford for a personal practice with one of our new drivers. If you would like to show up and take a look at what is going on you are welcome. We have the track from 12:00 until 3:00.

| Man o man this just isnt working LOL, i just got scheduled to work next Friday. No i wouldnt expect anyone to let a guy take a test drive on race night. But we are still going to try to come to one of the first couple races to talk to some people and learn some stuff. I am looking to get into racing the mini cups, but not on my own, in a driver development program. Should be fun if everything works out. IF any other dates pop up dotn be afraid to post form me to let me know. |
